Let us take the writing burden off your plate.
We align on your content calendar together, and then we take it from there. We'll staff an experienced writer in your niche, run interviews, conduct desktop research, and then draft newsletter editions in your brand's voice.
It's an add-on to Operations, which maintains and optimizes your newsletter infrastructure.

Who Writing is for
We write for brands and teams: companies, firms, funds, and organizations that want to build trust and stay top of mind with readers. Personal essays and first-person stories drawn from one person's expertise are best written by that person, or by someone inside your organization who works closely with them. If that's your newsletter, add Operations and we'll handle everything after the draft.
What's included
Writing covers everything between an idea and an approved draft.
Interviews, desktop research, or work from the material you already have, depending on what each edition needs
Every edition on your send schedule, whether that's monthly, biweekly, or weekly
Topics drawn from the content calendar we build with you in onboarding
Two rounds of revisions after your review. If a draft misses the brief we agreed on, we fix it. If the direction changes after that, we scope the rewrite separately.
Every engagement starts with a one-month onboarding, where we build your strategy and content calendar. See what happens in onboarding.
Writing runs on the same 6-month agreement as Operations, then month-to-month with notice to cancel.
How an edition gets made
We align with you on the topic we'll cover.
We interview key subjects, conduct desktop research, or work from what you already have: call transcripts, blog posts, internal memos.
Our team creates a first draft.
You review, and we refine. Nothing publishes without your approval.
We build, test, and send.
Your part is a short interview or some source material, plus a read of the draft.
How we price writing
Newsletters vary widely in how much writing and research they need, so we scope this on a call and define what goes in each edition during the onboarding process.
Four factors drive the cost:
How often you send
What each edition contains and how much of it is original
How many interviews and sources each edition needs
How many voices the newsletter carries
Writing starts at $1,500/month, on top of Operations. You'll have a quote within two business days of the call.
The FF team helped us clarify our vision for our content and audience, differentiate our unique voice, and built a foundation upon which we've been able to grow an audience that trusts us to deliver valuable content.
FAQ
How do you learn our voice?
During onboarding we read your past content and brand materials and meet with the people who drive your organization's perspective. We also subscribe to the newsletters and publications your readers follow.
Can I write some editions or sections myself?
Yes. We can write some sections or editions while you write others. A short note from a founder or expert up top, with our curated section around it, works well.
Do I have to buy Operations too?
Yes. Writing sits on top of Operations, which covers infrastructure management, production, and performance reporting. What we do as part of our Operations work is build and maintain a newsletter foundation that ensures the effort we put into writing pays off and reaches your target audience in the inbox.
